Prague 101

Weather: I visited Prague during the last week of May, and it was warm, with just one rainy day. Most days, temperatures were in the upper 70s (F), but it definitely felt hotter while walking around the city and climbing the hills and stairs around Prague Castle. Evenings were cool, with a pleasant breeze.

Transportation: Prague is a compact city, and most major sites are within walking distance of each other, so there is no need to rely on public transportation. During the tour, public transportation was used only once, for the journey to Prague Castle.

Food: While Czech cuisine is heavy on meat, most restaurants offer vegetarian and vegan options. There are also a handful of wonderful vegetarian restaurants around Prague.
Language: Czech; Most locals working in hotels, restaurants, and main attractions speak some English.

Currency: Koruna (Czech Crown) is the main currency, but some places also accept Euros. Credit cards are accepted in most restaurants and stores. I mainly used cash to tip my airport transfer driver and restaurant servers for meals not included in the tour.

Travelers are recommended to use ATMs associated with Czech banks, as 3rd party ATMs may not be secure.
